UNEI will provide production capacity for up to 1.500 vehicles per year, with 24 operators, at its 9.000-square-meter Seville facility
UNEI will handle the final assembly and storage of Mothium’s new CargoBikes at its Seville facility. Mothium, the Spanish company engineering 360º sustainable professional mobility, will begin mass production of its electric Cargobike for last-mile delivery in September.
In the coming weeks, UNEI will set up the first dedicated assembly station, fully equipped with all necessary tools and materials for optimal efficiency, along with a quality control testing bench and ample storage space.
Alongside the production line, UNEI will also provide warehousing, administrative personnel, and the technical systems needed to manage operations efficiently.
Mothium CEO Sergio González visited the Seville facility, welcomed by UNEI’s Managing Director Rafael Cía, to review preparations and see firsthand how operations will run. During the visit, Mothium also showcased its pre-production CargoBike units.
“Our strategic alliance with UNEI strengthens our 360º sustainability vision,” said Sergio González.
“UNEI brings the expertise, processes, and certifications needed to ensure top-tier product quality, while enabling inclusive, ethical, and socially responsible production—fully aligned with our mission for positive impact.”
UNEI’s General Manager added:
“As a company deeply committed to sustainability, partnering with Mothium, a leader in zero-emission last-mile logistics, is an exciting step forward. This collaboration expands our Smart Supply business line, adding industrial capabilities to our logistics expertise.”
Mothium’s CargoBikes are designed with a Minimal Mobility philosophy—built on three pillars:
Our CargoBike merges the agility of a bicycle with the cargo power of a commercial van,”explained CEO Sergio González.
He also highlighted the extensive engineering behind the product, which enables a simplified, tool-free assembly process designed for rapid industrial scalability.
Each eCargobike features proprietary patented technologies such as:
Production begins in September, with a projected output of 5.000 units per year, all assembled locally in Spain, reinforcing Mothium’s commitment to sustainability, serviceability, and long component lifespans to reduce maintenance and environmental impact.
This project falls under UNEI’s Smart Supply business unit, which focuses on outsourcing entire value chain processes, often with a technical component. Smart Supply now accounts for roughly half of UNEI’s revenue and a third of its workforce, with the flagship logistics center in Seville spanning over 9.000 square meters.
